A technology development and intellectual property holding company born from firsthand experience running oilfield operations in the Permian Basin — built to deliver Operational Intelligence that works when nobody's watching.
CJT Development LLC is a technology development and intellectual property holding company headquartered in Midland, Texas. The company was founded by operators — people who have run SWD facilities, managed crude reclamation equipment, and watched the limitations of existing control systems up close.
The OI platform wasn't designed in a lab and then tested in the field. It was designed in the field and then formalized. Every specification in the three provisional patent applications reflects a real operational problem that needed a better solution — autonomous valve control because manual operation creates liability, edge-compute architecture because Permian Basin sites don't always have reliable internet, modular reclamation because throughput requirements change.
CJT Development's role is simple: develop the technology, protect the IP, and license it to the operators who need it. The company does not operate wells or facilities. That is the job of CJT Energy (SWD operations) and CJT Oil (crude reclamation) — both independent entities that hold formal licenses from CJT Development.
The company is registered with SAM.gov (UEI: QD7VXFYTW3W5) and is pursuing DOE SBIR Phase I funding to accelerate the commercialization of the OI platform for broader Permian Basin deployment. Three provisional patents have been filed; a nonprovisional prosecution strategy is in development with patent counsel.
CJT Development holds the technology. CJT Energy and CJT Oil operate independently under technology licenses. This structure is intentional — IP ownership stays clean, operational liability stays isolated, and each entity can grow independently.
Technology development, patent portfolio management, and IP licensing. The sole owner of all provisional patent applications. Issues formal licenses to subsidiaries and develops the third-party operator program.
Independent operating entity. Saltwater disposal facility operations in the Permian Basin. Holds License LIC-001 for Application A (Automated SWD System) from CJT Development. Operates independently of CJT Development's IP strategy.
Independent operating entity. Crude oil reclamation from oilfield sludge, BS&W, and tank bottom accumulations. Holds License LIC-002 for Applications C & D from CJT Development. Sells recovered crude as its primary revenue stream.
Note: CJT Development, CJT Energy, and CJT Oil are three distinct and independent legal entities. Plans, obligations, and revenues of one entity do not obligate or represent the others. CJT Development's plans are independent of the operations of CJT Energy or CJT Oil.
"Every operator knows the feeling. It's 2 AM and the injection pump throws a fault. Nobody's on site. The well shuts in. By morning there's a problem. CJT's OI platform was built for exactly that moment — to see the fault coming, take corrective action, and log everything before anyone even knows there was an issue."
The slogan is not marketing language. It is a design requirement. Every decision made in the development of the OI platform — edge-compute architecture, offline-first operation, autonomous control logic, full audit logging — was made because someone needs this system to work when they're not there.
CJT Development's patent applications were developed by people who have actually operated the equipment they're replacing.
Primary inventor across all three provisional patent applications. Leads technology development, OI platform engineering, patent prosecution strategy, and business development operations from Midland, Texas. Background in chemistry, industrial process automation, and oilfield operations management.
Co-inventor on the CJT Development patent portfolio. Contributed to the conceptual and technical development of the systems covered by the provisional patent applications. Inventor Assignment Agreement executed and on file with CJT Development LLC for all covered inventions.
